Mrs. Jerry T Vardiman (Alma) was one of seven women who started the Neighborly Neighbors club in January 1945. She suggested the club name and was Vice President and dramatics chairman. Mrs. Vardeman and Miss Elizabeth Scott were food leaders, giving reports on "potatoes" and "meals that can wait". Mrs. Vardeman died the first year.
In 1947 the new Mrs. Jerry T Vardiman (Mary Lucille) became a new member of the Neighborly Neighbors club. A wedding shower was given for her by the club. In 1948 Mrs. Vardeman received a baby shower. The club has been in existence for 5 1/2 years.
