| Frances "Frankie" Wilcoxson Cooke
Photo submitted to treespot by Janet Willcoxon de la Pena, "I found this on a Wilcoxson website I belong to. It is written by Barbara Whiteside." Barbara Whiteside said, "This (photo) was found in my paternal grandmother's collection of the few photos she was able to save when the 1937 Ohio River flood took over her house, on the back is written Grandma Cook and probably taken some in the 1860s. I have photos with similar backgrounds of two of her daughters and a granddaughter and her husband. This is Frances Wilcoxson Cook, married to Seth Cook in Kentucky in 1792 when she was 15, She was the daughter of Lt Daniel and Sallie Faulkner Wilcoxson and born around 1782 (1792-15=1777) in Kentucky. Her paternal grandparents were John and Sarah Boone Wilcoxson and her granduncles included Daniel and Squire Boone. Frankie as she was sometimes called would have at least ten children: John, Nancy, Ann, William, Sarah, Seth Jr, Frances, Mary, Melinda and Jesse. Mary would marry David Montfort and become my great great grandparents. The photos I have other than her, are of her daughter Mary Cook Montfort and Nancy Cook Kesler as well as one of her granddaughter, Nancy Montfort Taylor and her new husband, Zack. The original of this photo were sent to her children as I have a cousin or two that also have seen this photo." Found dates on familysearch.org. It looks like she was born in 1782 and married in 1797. |
