| 1780s - Rebecca Newland House in Crab Orchard, Kentucky As to the Rebecca Newland House....Lindsey Stephenson was her great grandfather and I believe that Lindsey once owned the house. If he did, he may have gotten through his relationship with Morgan Vardeman, as Morgan’s will states that he is leaving his estate to sons John and William Vardeman and to his grandson, Lindsey Vardeman Stephenson. Lindsey V. Stephenson was born on 14 Oct 1830, the same day that Morgan’s daughter (wife of Lindsey Stephenson and Lindsey V. Stephenson’s mother), Annie E. Vardeman Stephenson died.
I understand that the Commonwealth of Kentucky has started to work on the house....maybe not to repair it, but to stabilize it. |
