General Harry Vaughan, President Truman's Military Aide, admitted to a Senate subcommittee investigating "five percenters" (bribes for government favors) that his friends at a perfume company sent freezers to some of his friends including James K Vardaman Jr and Mrs. Truman but "there was nothing improper."
