FBI Director, J Edgar Hoover, testifies he was contacted by Forrestal, Secretary of the Navy in 1945, regarding the Amerasia case but was not asked to slow down the process just inform the President of the facts. Forrestal's diary states he also contacted James K Vardaman Jr.
