That she is the widow of Benjamin W Vardaman who was enrolled under the name of enjamin W Vardaman on the 9th day of August 1862 as a Sergeant in Co F 29th Regiment of Iowa Infantry Volunteers and honorably discharged August 10th 1865 having served ninety days or more during the late war of the rebellion...
That she was married under the name of Lavinia Randall to said soldier at Bedford, Iowa on the 19th day of October 1856 by Rev ?; that she had not been previously married; that the soldier had not been previously married.
That the said soldier died April 18th 1909 at Mount Ayr, Iowa, that she was not divorced from him; that she has not remarried since his death.
