Daniel Wilcoxson's tombstone in Wilcoxson Cemetery .9 miles from Bagdad, Kentucky. He fought during the American Revolution protecting Fort Boonesborough, Kentucky and Bryant's Station.

"He volunteered as a private from said Rowan County, North Carolina sometime in September 1778, and served in Captain John Holder's North Carolina company, which was sent to defend the fort at Boonesborough on the Kentucky River, where he remained until the first of July 1779, when he was ordered to Bryants Station, Kentucky, where he continued until discharged in the fall of 1783. During his service at Bryants Station he was a lieutenant, first in Captain William Hogan's company, and next in Captain Robert Johnston's company. (He was in the siege of Bryants Station and in General Clark's Indian Expedition, and in various engagements with Indians.) He made application for pension 17 Dec 1832 when living in Shelby County, KY. His claim was allowed." Pension Record #S16582
